“I lived. I gotta find out what to do now!”

–Agnes Gooch

Another favorite line from Auntie Mame. My own answer to that has always been to “live” again. Life really is a grand adventure if you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

I’ve spent the vast majority of my life in the arts. My career has been spent behind the lens creating imagery and story telling for a variety of brands, business, and non-profits. Savidge Kitchen was born out of the pandemic. At a time when I was unsure of what would happen in my own business, I decided to turn my cameras towards the things I was doing at home- cooking, making cocktails, and finding ways to connect with those I love though food and drink… even from a distance.

Eat well. Drink better.

Love through food- literally and figuratively. I’ve always found that you can truly connect with and care for people through the simple act of sharing a meal or a drink together. I also think you can learn a lot about a person by the way they enjoy (or don’t enjoy) food. The incomparable Julia Child once said “people who love to eat are always the best people”. I couldn’t agree more. She also said "I believe in red meat. I've often said: red meat and gin". Clearly, the woman was a genius… a tall, fearless, butter-loving genius.

Eat with your Eyes

I believe in taking just a few extra steps to make something look as good as it tastes. Why? Because if something looks inviting, chances are your guests will enjoy the overall experience even more. From setting a table to plating a dish, taking just a little bit of care can go a long way to excite both the eyes and appetites. Anticipation is a wonderful aperitif.

Explore Flavor

Ever tried teriyaki sauce on vanilla ice cream? I have, and it’s wonderful. Before you call the men in white coats, think about french fries dipped in a frosty… it’s not that far off! I’m a firm believer in trying new things, crazy or conventional. Exploring new flavors is like traveling around the world from the comfort of your own kitchen.
