Ube Mocktail

Purple cocktails are where it’s at for Spring Drinks! So what is Ube? Ube is a purple tuber, closely related to yam and taro. Ube is actually the Tagalog word for “tuber”, and you’ll see Ube used in Filipino pastry quite often. What does Ube taste like? Heaven. But if that’s too broad, it specifically has a nutty vanilla quality with earthy undertones. Ube syrup is quite hard to come by here in the US, so I decided to add it to my line up of Savidge Kitchen Syrups. You can shop those here!

This mocktail is perfect for anyone looking for a refreshing, delicious, and interesting drink that isn’t your basic ginger beer and lime recipe!

UBE MOCKTAIL

  • 3oz of Soda Water

  • 1.5oz Coconut Water (Pulp Free)

  • 0.75oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 0.75oz Ube Syrup

Add the Soda Water to a glass with pebble ice first, and add the remaining ingredients to your cocktail shaker with ice (not for watering down, but to keep your mocktail cold). Lightly shake and pour into the glass. Garnish with some fresh mint and enjoy!

If you’re looking to transform this mocktail into a cocktail, add 2oz of Vodka (neutral spirit).
