Ube Margarita
Purple cocktails are where it’s at for Spring Drinks! So what is Ube? Ube is a purple tuber, closely related to yam and taro. Ube is actually the Tagalog word for “tuber”, and you’ll see Ube used in Filipino pastry quite often. What does Ube taste like? Heaven. But if that’s too broad, it specifically has a nutty vanilla quality with earthy undertones. Ube syrup is quite hard to come by here in the US, so I decided to add it to my line up of Savidge Kitchen Syrups. You can shop those here!
UBE MARGARITA
2oz Reposado Tequila
0.5oz Cointreau
0.75oz Lime Juice
0.75oz Ube Syrup
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake for 20 to 30 seconds. Pour into your margarita glass (without ice) and garnish with a fresh lime wheel.
Personally, I like my margaritas without the sugar or salt rim. If you want to add a little something to the rim, I would recommend Pink Hymalian salt!
