Whiskey Fondue

Gather your family and friends this holiday season for a Whiskey Fondue! This cheese lover’s dream serves 8 to 10 people as part of an appetizer spread. To keep this cheesy delight irresistibly gooey and to prevent the cheese from hardening, use a use a fondue pot, or a small chafing dish.

Serve the fondue with green apples, pumpernickel bread, radishes, pretzels, and whatever else your heart desires. This recipe is perfect for a cozy night of snacking!

WHISKEY FONDUE

  • 1⁄4 cup Butter

  • 1⁄4 cup Flour

  • 1 cup Whole Milk

  • 1 tsp Onion Powder

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1⁄2 tsp Nutmeg

  • 1⁄2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire

  • 1 pinch Cayenne

  • 1⁄2 cup Rye

  • 16 oz Gruyere, grated

  • 8 oz Emmentaler, grated

In a large heavy skillet over medium heat, make a rue with the butter, flour, and cream.

Whisk in dry spices, Worcestershire, and whiskey. Then, working in batches, stir grated cheese into the mixture until fully melted.
