Blackberry Ginger Old Fashioned

This Blackberry Ginger Old Fashioned may be the perfect drink as we head into fall. Homemade ginger syrup is what makes this cocktail truly special. You can also substitute muddled fresh blackberries if you don't have the liqueur!

BLACKBERRY GINGER OLD FASHIONED

  • 2oz Bourbon (Noble Oak)

  • 1oz Blackberry Liqueur (I used Drillaud)

  • 1oz Ginger Syrup

  • Fresh Blackberries (Garnish)

You might be wondering…isn’t the ginger syrup spicy? It’s not actually because it’s paired with sugar! It has this really nice rich, unexpected and lovely flavor to it. To make Ginger Syrup, boil one cup of water, one cup of sugar, and one cup of chopped fresh ginger. Once boiled, let the ginger sit in the mixture for an hour, then strain it out into a mason jar and voila - homemade Ginger Syrup!

Grab a mixing glass and add ice to it. Add in your Bourbon, Blackberry Liqueur, Ginger Syrup, and stir it all together! Grab a glass and add a large single ice cube to it. Strain in your cocktail and garnish with a couple fresh blackberries.
